Welcome to
Plattsburg Public School
Plattsburg Public School is nestled in the foothills of Wallsend and was established in 1865. We are situated on the corner of Ranclaud and Boscawen Streets Wallsend opposite Federal Park in one of the oldest parts of Newcastle.
Our buildings are a mixture of nineteenth and twentieth century architecture with the oldest building still standing dating back to 1885. Our playground features a considerable grassed area, The Gully, a Basketball / Netball court, tarred area and covered sand-pit. We have recently installed modern playground equipment for our Infants and Primary students.
We have approximately 200 pupils at Plattsburg and although our buildings are heritage listed they house the latest technology in Smartboard and Interactive Whiteboard teaching.
We have a connected classroom which enables us a visual link to any other classroom in the world. Our local High School is Callaghan College Wallsend Campus, years 7 – 10 with students progressing to the Jesmond Campus, years 11 – 12.
Our school provides many opportunities for its students and enjoys the support of the parents of the students and the Wallsend community. Your child will be given the opportunity to experience many and varied educational experiences at Plattsburg Public School and we welcome you to contact us for any further information.
